We survived testing and celebrated with the PARCC crawl. We played soccer, got our faces painted, created comic strips, had a dance party with Zumba videos and more! The kids definitely earned this afternoon of fun. Congratulations to my 14 kiddos with perfect attendance in March too! See you all in a week!
Students showed great effort on their first day of testing! Keep up the great work kiddos! I am proud of you! This was also class picture day! I can't wait to see our photo! Practicing multiplication facts does not have to be boring! One of the ways we are practicing is by playing BINGO! Today we did a science experiment where we turned liquid into a solid. Yes...we made ice cream! The kiddos got a little out of control, we now have salt water stains all over the classroom, and a few of us ended up with really salty ice cream. All in all though, it was a fun experiment. Check out the website if you want to make your own! http://science.howstuffworks.com/innovation/edible-innovations/ice-cream3.htm We worked with an awesome application on the iPads today where student create their own lessons. We created videos about our new unit in science which is the Phases of Matter. Check out the Godsman Digital Student Gallery to see some of our work! Thank you so much for attending our Open House! We had a scavenger hunt where students had to show their families all around the room and work we have been doing. We even got to look at the work we have been doing on the chrome books! We have been learning the 300 most common third grade words through a really neat website called Flocabulary. We learn the new words through the use of context clues in songs. Today, we worked in teams to create skits for our new words. Here are the kids acting out the words wit, privilege, arctic, avoid, digest, and gasp. Ask your kiddos what these words mean! We don't let a little inside recess keep us from getting our exercise! Although, feel free to warm up Denver. My kiddos sure would love some fresh air! |
